When will I receive my estimate?
Estimates are typically delivered within 7 days of the initial site visit. They are sent via email unless otherwise requested.
How far out are you booked?
This varies, but construction can typically begin within 30 days of contract signing. Projects that require special order material and/or Building Permits could take longer.
How long will my project take once construction begins?
Most deck builds take 1-2 weeks based on deck size and deck height. If there is a roof over the deck, the time frame is typically 4-6 weeks. If the covered deck is screened in, an additional 2-3 days will be needed to add the screen panels and door. Hardscape jobs typically take 2-4 weeks. Please be advised that hardscape installs are drastically affected by weather and ground conditions since, more often than not, heavy equipment is used to grade the patio area. If the ground is wet, SOS will not be able to operate the heavy equipment needed to grade your backyard.
How many crews do you have, and are they employees?
All of our contractors are independent contractors. We currently manage 2 deck crews and 2 hardscape crews, with that number fluctuating throughout the calendar year as needed. Our contractors have been thoroughly vetted and have been doing work for us since we opened our doors in 2019. They have also performed work on our personal homes and for family members.
Do I need to obtain my own building permit?
No, Superior Outdoor Spaces will handle the building permit application when applicable.
Where are you based out of?
Superior Outdoor Spaces is a local, family-owned business. Jeff and his father, Dave, own the business together, and they opened their doors in October of 2019. We do not have a “brick and mortar office” and work out of our home offices and trucks. Jeff lives in Kernersville, and Dave lives in Oak Ridge. Our service area is the NC Triad, including Guilford County, Forsyth County, and any county bordering them.

Why should we hire Superior Outdoor Spaces as our contractor of choice?
The attention to detail that we put into each of our backyard renovations cannot be compared. We are not a large national franchise that is only focused on the bottom line. Our objective is to deliver each customer a backyard renovation at a fair market value, so that you recommend us to your neighbors. A hassle-free backyard renovation is what we strive for every time we begin a project.
Do you offer a bonus if we refer you to friends or neighbors?
Yes, we offer a $200 referral bonus if you refer us and a contract is signed for $10,000 or more.
Where do you purchase your materials?
Our lumber supplier is Smith Phillips Building Supply out of Winston-Salem. All of our hardscape material is purchased from Marshall Stone in Coflax. Superior Outdoor Spaces attempts to avoid purchasing from the big box stores due to the quality of material and service we received from our vendors.
What composite decking brands do you install?
Although we have access to all of the composite brands, Superior Outdoor Spaces is a certified installer of Trex and Moisture Shield. To avoid overwhelming potential clients with hundreds of color options, we will price those 2 brands unless otherwise requested.
